O Instituto de Ensino e Pesquisa UNIAPAE-MG é um braço da Federação das Apaes do Estado de Minas Gerais com dotação orçamentária independente, sendo seu gestor e suas contas sujeitos à aprovação do Conselho de Administração da Federação das Apaes do Estado de Minas Gerais. Tem como objetivo levar a sistematização e análise de dados à prática dos profissionais que trabalham diretamente com a Pessoa com Deficiência Intelectual e Múltipla e à Gestão de Organizações da Sociedade Civil, melhorando o acompanhamento, monitoramento e avaliação das ações realizadas.

A superintendência deste instituto, atualmente sob a coordenação de Sérgio Sampaio Bezerra, tem como função pensar e atuar estrategicamente para viabilizar a atualização dos profissionais da Rede Mineira das Apaes e promover investigações científicas nas instituições a partir das práticas cotidianas de seus profissionais a fim de gerar conhecimento e inovação nas seguintes  áreas:

Gestão de organização da sociedade civil, organização de serviços de assistência social, trabalho, saúde e educação para Pessoas com Deficiência Intelectual e Múltipla à luz das normativas das políticas públicas brasileiras e a promoção de tecnologia assistiva e social para habilitação e reabilitação dessas pessoas nas áreas de saúde, trabalho, educação e assistência social. Este Instituto contará com o Conselheiro Consultivo, Eduardo Barbosa, a Assessora de Projetos, Maíra Calabria, o Secretário Executivo, Daniel Rangel,  e se divide em três unidades:

The Instituto de Ensino e Pesquisa UNIAPAE-MG Darci Barbosa (The Institute of Teaching and Research UNIAPAE-MG Darci Barbosa) is a branch of the Federação das Apaes do Estado de Minas Gerais-Feapaes-MG (Federation of APAES of Minas Gerais State). It was founded with the purpose of bringing systematization and data analysis to professionals working directly with people with intellectual and multiple disabilities and the Civil Society Organization Management, improving the tracking, monitoring and assessment of accomplished actions. The role of the superintendence, currently occupied by Professor Sergio Sampaio Bezerra, PhD is:

  • strategically planning and acting in order to make practical the updating of the Apae network in Minas Gerais;
  • promoting science investigations at institutions based on their day to day practices to create knowledge and innovation in the following areas:
  • civil society organization management
  • health and education for people with intellectual and multiple disabilities, in agreement with the normative of Brazilian public policies promotion of assistive and social technology for rehabilitation of those working in healthcare, employment, education and social work areas.

The institute is divided in three main units:

  • APAE Consulting;
  • UNIAPAE-MG: Teaching and Research;
  • Sistema Integrado de Gestão de Apaes: SIGA (Integrated Management System of Apaes – SIGA).

Continuing Education Program

The Continuing Education Program has the purpose of building and strengthening a knowledge base, in order to assure the continuous updating of all professionals that are part of social movements in defense of people with disabilities, and others interested in this set of themes. It is composed by courses, research and consultancy, events (videoconferences, seminars and workshops) and by SIGA Program.

The institute offers videoconferences and seminars throughout the state. The target audience is, essentially, people with disability, their families and Apae professionals. They use the tools for presentation, discussion and assessment of practices developed specially for the Apae centers.

UNIAPAE-MG/Instituto de Ensino e Pesquisa offers formal onsite and distance education programs to improve the services of each Apae center and other Civil Society Organizations. They are developed through partnerships with qualified education institutions and accessible in Belo Horizonte and using the logistics of the Decentralized Training Centers, known as CTD, located in the Apae centers qualified for that structure.
